What we do, what you agree to, and what happens when something goes wrong.
What Flash Rescue is
Flash Rescue runs a marketplace where food businesses sell surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away. We are a marketplace, not a restaurant. The food is prepared, handled and sold by the kitchen you buy from, and they remain responsible for it.
Everything is collected in person by you, from the kitchen, within the collection window shown on the drop. We do not deliver, and we do not store food.
Your account
You need an account to reserve food. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has it. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
One account per person. We may suspend an account that is used to hoard inventory, to abuse refunds, or to harass a merchant.
Reserving and paying
A reservation holds the food for a few minutes while you pay. Payment is taken through our payment provider; we never see or store your card details.
Prices are set by the kitchen. The platform fee shown at checkout is our commission, taken from the kitchen's side of the sale rather than added to your price.
A reservation is only accepted if our estimate says you can reach the kitchen before it closes. That estimate is an estimate, not a guarantee about traffic.
Collecting your food
Show the ticket in the app at the counter. If the window closes and you have not collected, the food is gone and the order is treated as a no-show.
Surplus food is by nature whatever is genuinely left. For a category or surprise bag, the exact contents vary. Allergen information comes from the kitchen and you should treat it as their statement, not ours.
When things go wrong
If a kitchen cancels a drop you have paid for, you are refunded in full and automatically.
If what you collected was wrong, report it from the ticket and we will look at it.
Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law. Questions go to support@flashrescue.dev.
For kitchens
You must hold a valid FSSAI licence, give us its number, and keep it current. We verify it before listing you and display it on your drops, as we are required to.
You are responsible for the safety, description and allergen information of everything you list, and for handing over what you described.
We take the commission shown in your dashboard from each completed sale. The rest settles to your account through our payment provider.
